Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Cllr Dave Smithson spoke at the Party's
Spring Conference in Torquay on March 17th, 2001.
The conference heard that plans were well advanced for a May 3rd General Election if that is the day the Government decide to call it. Dave said: "The conference was very clearly focused at the forthcoming General Election and we are clearly prepared to win yet more votes and seats in the House of Commons whenever Tony Blair decides to go to the country."
