OKELL DRIVE SUBWAY ACTION ON THE WAY

PRESSURE FROM HALEWOOD LIB DEMS has finally paid off with the recommendations of a Council report more than 18 months old finally being addressed by Labour run Knowsley.

Halewood East Lib Dem Cllr Dave Smithson has recently met with the Council’s Chief Executive to demand action after he found out that no progress had been made to address the report’s recommendations.

UNACCEPTABLE

“The problems linked to this subway are making the lives of local residents a misery,” said Cllr Dave Smithson.  “Frankly it is simply unacceptable that the Council’s own plans for improving the area have been left on a shelf to gather dust. I have now been assured by the Chief Executive that every effort will be made to make up for lost time.

“I am told CCTV cameras have been ordered and hopefully they will be installed very soon and other measures to reduce youth disorder are also being considered for the near future.

“Other Councillors in the area may have given up hope of helping solve this problem but the Lib Dems will never be happy to accept second best for our communities and will fight to get things done to help improve your quality of life whatever it takes,” said Cllr Dave Smithson.
