Liberal Democrats Leader Charles Kennedy MP congratulated Local Party Chair and Knowsley Borough Councillor Dave Smithson on his selection as Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Knowsley South at the recent Party Conference in Bournemouth.

The pair met up during a book signing session at the Conference where the Leader was promoting his recently published novel "The Future of Politics" and was delighted to hear of Dave's recent selection by the Knowsley South Lib Dems and passed on his best wishes for the hard work that lay ahead.

"I was pleased to hear that Dave had been selected as the PPC for Knowsley South," said Charles Kennedy.  "As a local councillor and Chair of the local party Dave has his finger on the pulse of issues in Knowsley and will work hard for the Lib Dems in raising our profile on Merseyside."
