| Two years of lobbying
by the Liberal Democrat opposition in Knowsley has been instrumental in
the launch by the Council of Knowsley Pride, an intitiative to clean up
the Borough and improve the local environment.
"Litter is dumped all across this Borough and we have been highlighting the Council's failure to tackle this problem for the last two years," said Cllr Dave Smithson, Deputy Leader of the Lib Dems. "Now at last the Council has decided to listen to what we have been telling them and we warmly welcome this new scheme that should start to make a real difference to the level of cleanliness in Knowsley, the Lib Dems have been committed to such a clean up for some time, now it appears for once the Labour run administration has listened, something their Westminster bosses have been promising but have yet to deliver!"
