SCHOOLS REPORT
HIGHLIGHTS LABOUR’S FAILURES
OVER THE PAST 25 YEARS!
“Labour controlled Knowsley Council is responsible”

THE RADICAL PROPOSALS TO ADDRESS THE FUTURE OF SCHOOLS IN KNOWSLEY HAVE EXPOSED THE “YEARS OF FAILURE” BY THE LABOUR CONTROLLED AUTHORITY CLAIM THE LIB DEMS.

The recently published recommendations of the Schools Commission will now be the subject of further extensive consultation with parents and teachers before any final decisions are taken by the Council.

MIXED RESPONSE

But the proposals have already received a mixed response, with many parents understandably concerned about what the future will hold for their children’s education.

RESERVATIONS EXPRESSED

Knowsley’s Liberal Democrat group have expressed their reservations about many of the proposals.

They intend to challenge some of the conceptions upon which these recommendations have been made as well as the solutions outlined in the report during the consultation period.
“Large scale re-organisation of schools as outlined in these proposals will create significant upheaval for many of our schools, staff, parents and children and should not be undertaken lightly,” said Lib Dem Deputy Leader Cllr Dave Smithson.

HOW HAVE WE REACHED THIS POSITION?

“But for me the key question that needs close scrutiny is why we have reached this position, where school buildings are in such a poor state of repair that it is not feasible or viable to refurbish them,” he added .

“Just what has this Labour run authority been doing for the past 25 years to allow this situation to arise?  That is the key question Parents should be considering and asking.”
